Phoenix Orta presented her paper entitled, "Digital Methods of Cultural Heritage Education: StorypMaps and 3D Models at Varner-Hogg Plantation" at the Texas Historical Commission Real Places in April of 2024. The presentation was part of a panel in which educational outreach through archaeological research at the Texas State Historic Site was highlighted.
Orta attended the conference with a team from Rice including members of the Anthropology Department, the History Department and the SlaveVoyages research team.
